After reading I Timothy, I realized I need to pray for my church leaders AND their family members regularly and specifically. They are always being scrutinized and perhaps criticized. They are always also to be held up as an example. Wow! That is a great deal of pressure, but it is Biblical! So I will pray for them.
Another stream of thought that emerged was, am I the same person on Sunday and Monday? I would like to think I am, but maybe I should pray about this too, since it is on my mind for some reason!
The next thought was about the affects of my words-from the James passage. The mouth is a small part of the body, but causes large amounts of damage. Are my words on Monday as loving as they are on Sunday? Are they as loving in the evening as they are in the morning? Are they as loving when I am disciplining as they are when I am praising? Are they as loving about my church leaders after they make, what I consider, a mistake as they are before someone made a mistake?
Okay, now I have vowed to go back and review my blog for the week. So, here it goes. I hope I am loving with myself when correcting any words that might not have been loving or correct! ☺
