Today, our Bible study was about prayer. For years, I have wondered about who to pray to. Some people start their prayers to the Father, some to Jesus Christ. I found it confusing and prayed for wisdom.
Today, my prayer was answered. In our Bible study, they talked about the Trinity. If God is three is one, then whether you start your prayer to the Father, Jesus Christ, or the Holy Spirit, you are still praying to the same person. At the same time I should be thankful for what they all have done for me... the Father loves me no matter what; Jesus died for all of my sins and is the reason I can be righteous and my prayers heard; the Spirit helps me pray and takes my messy prayers and interprets them and He convicts me.
I am not sure I fully understand this, and I think I will understand it more and more everyday, God willing. In the meantime, how freeing to know I can pray to any one of the three of the Trinity as they are all the same!
