In the beginning. ..

In the beginning God created heaven and earth.  Genesis 1:1

We have all heard that a million times,  but today it was different.

Today, I read the creation story carefully.  It was amazing!  I didn't realize the details.  The vault that separated the rain from the oceans. The stars were not made because of some explosion,  but so we could have light at night. The animals were given vegetation to eat. ..not meat? And lastly, but most importantly, man was created in God's image and was given dominion over everything God had created!

Amazing!

We are ALL created in God's image. Every single one of us.  Even those we don't like or trust or who look and smell bad or who swindle other people without seemingly any remorse EVERYONE is made in God's image!

You know what. ..that includes me!  Despite all the things I do wrong, God loves me, too! I was created in His image. On those days when I have really messed up; on those days that no matter how hard I try nothing goes right; on those days when everything goes right; on those days that others are disappointed in me; on those days when others are unkind to me...even those days...God loves me (and those people, also)!

Thank you, Father, for loving all of us so much! Please help me to love myself and others as you do. Help me to see everyone through your eyes.
